Richard, VK6PZT recently appeared on ABC TV’s quirky quiz game show, Hard Quiz.

Each episode of the Hard Quiz features 4 contestants, all of who select a personal specialised subject. The host, Tom Gleeson will ask the contestants 5 hard questions from their specialist subject areas, with any of the contestant able to answer . Each question is worth 5 points and 10 if you steal a question from one of the other contestants subjects.

Richard chose the subject “Morse Code”, which is not surprising as he is known as “Mr Morse Code” among amateurs in the south west.

Gleeson makes a point of taking the mickey out of the contestants, and this episode was no different. Richard expertly handled the ribbing and gently returned serve to Gleeson.

When it came to the Morse Code round, Richard smoked the opposition, answering all his questions correctly. He even managed to steal a question from another contestant whose speciality was “Machin Stamps“. This put Richard in the prime spot to take out the trophy.

Head to head in the final round, Richard only missed one question, apparently he never had a Nokia telephone in the 90’s
