The Bunbury Radio Club was proud to participate in the International Museum weekend on Saturday – Sunday, June 25-26. We were QRV (operational) by 3:00 pm on the Saturday at the Southwest Rail Heritage Museum, located at the South-West Rail and Heritage Centre at Turner Street in Boyanup.
The Southwest Rail Heritage Museum very kindly gave us permission to setup operations in conjunction this year with their open day which was on the Sunday. It was great to have the opportunity to introduce the many visitors to the fascinating world of Amateur Radio!
Vonnie VK6FGWN, Richard VK6VRO, Shaun VK6PAL and Jarrad VK6FFAR were all on deck and all took turns calling CQ for the event. Richard was fortunate enough to snag an Indian station as soon as he took the mic. 🙂 The propagation Gods were not smiling on us and few contacts were made and no other museums were heard.
A hearty thank you is extended to Norm and all at the museum who were so enthusiastic and pleased to have us all there. Thanks Norm for the open invitation, we’ll definitely be taking you up on that next year!
